Frequently Asked Questions ...
Do you only offer the tours listed on your website?
No. Every GimmeGolfTour is bespoke. We use our featured tours as inspiration, then build an itinerary around your group's preferences, budget and desired list courses.
How many golfers can travel on a tour?
We cater for solo travellers, couples, small groups and larger golf societies or corporate groups. Whether there are 2 or 20+ golfers, we'll tailor the experience accordingly.
What's included in a GimmeGolfTour?
We can arrange everything from accommodation, golf, airport transfers and internal transport to dining reservations, safari experiences, wine tours, photography, videography and custom tour apparel. You simply arrive—we handle the rest.
Can you customise the itinerary?
Absolutely. Every itinerary is built around your preferred courses, accommodation style, sightseeing interests and budget.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking at least 6–12 months ahead, particularly if you'd like to play South Africa's most sought-after golf courses during peak season.
Do you organise non-golf activities?
Yes. Many of our guests combine world-class golf with safaris, wine tasting, whale watching, fine dining, coastal adventures and iconic South African attractions.
Do I need to organise anything myself?
Very little. Once your itinerary is confirmed, we'll manage the logistics so you can focus on enjoying your trip.
How do I get started?
Simply complete our enquiry form or contact us directly. We'll arrange a short consultation and create a personalised golf tour proposal with no obligation.
What are the best months to visit South Africa for golf?
South Africa is a year-round golf destination. The most popular months are October to April, when visitors enjoy warm weather, long days and excellent course conditions. Winter (May to September) also offers superb golf in many regions, with mild temperatures and less crowded courses.
Is South Africa safe for international visitors?
Yes. Thousands of international golfers visit South Africa every year and enjoy an incredible experience. As with any destination, sensible precautions are important. We only work with trusted hotels, transport providers and golf clubs, provide local advice throughout your trip, and carefully plan logistics so you can relax and enjoy your holiday with confidence.
Do I need an official golf handicap?
Most of South Africa's premier golf courses require players to hold a recognised handicap. If you're unsure whether your handicap qualifies for your chosen courses, we'll happily advise you before booking.
Should I bring my own clubs or hire them?
Both options work well. Many guests travel with their own clubs, while others prefer to hire premium sets to avoid airline baggage fees and simplify their journey. We can arrange high-quality rental clubs ready for you when you arrive.
Can my non-golfing partner or family join the tour?
Absolutely. South Africa offers incredible experiences beyond golf, including safaris, wine estates, beaches, wellness spas, gourmet dining and sightseeing. We'll create an itinerary that everyone in your group will enjoy.
What deposit is required to secure a booking?
A deposit is required to confirm your itinerary and secure tee times, accommodation and transport. The balance is typically payable before arrival. Full payment schedules and cancellation terms are clearly outlined in your quotation.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Cancellation policies vary depending on accommodation providers and golf clubs. We'll provide a clear breakdown of the applicable terms before you confirm your booking, and we'll always do our best to minimise any cancellation costs where possible.
Do I need a visa to visit South Africa?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Visitors from many countries, including the UK, can enter South Africa without a visa for short stays, while requirements differ for other countries. We'll gladly point you towards the latest official travel information before you book.
